Typical Position requirement – Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineers sending resumes to Voltex should be experienced in Protection Systems. Applicants shall be able to demonstrate extensive experience and knowledge in the field testing of HV Protection Systems and capabilities with the set up and implementation of secondary injection test kits, including the use of automatic test routines with advanced protection software such as Isatest TDMS, Omicron Test Universe or Doble ProTesT. Design capabilities with ETAP software would also be advantageous.

Applicants should have a sound knowledge of switchboard testing – conductivity resistance, insulation resistance and power frequency withstand test, intertrips, indication, control and interfacing; HV Cable testing; CT & VT tests, including mag curves, ratio, polarity, burden, secondary circuit resistance; testing of power and earthing transformers; protection relays – feeders and incomers, transformers, generators, motors, busbar, capacitor bank, buszone differential and line differential. Competency and fluency in writing reports and providing feedback is essential.

A customer service focused attitude, and confidence in development of Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analyses & Safe Work Methods, as well as an ability to effectively manage job planning for control and efficiency is critical. Applicants shall be able to work alone, with autonomy and self-reliance in problem solving.

Must be able to work legally in Australia, and be willing to travel frequently for periods of up to two weeks at a time.
